Clinical supervision is provided for dependently licensed counselors — those working toward full licensure and required to accumulate supervised hours under an approved supervisor. Supervision is available where permitted by applicable state licensing rules.

All supervision is conducted virtually. Sessions are structured to address clinical skill development, case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, and professional identity — the core competencies that distinguish a capable clinician from a merely credentialed one.

Supervision should be more than a requirement to complete. It should be a place where counselors can ask honest questions, examine their clinical work, strengthen their documentation, develop sound ethical reasoning, and learn how to carry the responsibilities of the profession with greater confidence.

My approach to supervision is collaborative and direct. I want supervisees to feel supported, but I also believe supervision should provide clear feedback, professional accountability, and opportunities for meaningful growth.

Clinical supervision may be appropriate for counselors who are:

• Working toward independent licensure
• Seeking structured clinical guidance
• Transitioning into a new clinical role
• Developing confidence in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Strengthening documentation and ethical decision-making
• Working in community mental health, private practice, agency settings, EAP settings, or substance use treatment settings

Supervision is provided virtually. Sessions may be individual or group-based depending on availability, licensure requirements, and the supervisee's needs.

Because supervision requirements vary by state and license type, prospective supervisees are responsible for confirming that supervision arrangements meet the requirements of their licensing board. I am happy to discuss scope, structure, and documentation expectations before beginning supervision.
